The Parks & Recreation Division understands that quality of life is vital to the residents of Hagerstown. The numerous parks, facilities and recreational programs we provide contribute directly to the health and well-being of our entire Hagerstown community. Our goal is to provide all Hagerstown citizens high quality recreational and leisure opportunities in safe, modern and well maintained parks and facilities. We are constantly responding to change, developing new programs, adding and upgrading facilities, all so you can have an exceptional leisure experience!

Although our parks can be visited year-round, they are "officially" closed November through March; during those months, no staff will be on site in the evenings or on weekends, and the restrooms are not open.
We welcome your suggestions. If there is anything you would like to see added to our web site, please don't hesitate to contact us.

Services & Amenities

One of Hagerstown’s most valuable resources is its network of parks and recreational facilities. From quiet and historic City Park, to the active recreational opportunities at Fairgrounds Park, to the family-oriented amenities at Pangborn Park and Hager Park, residents have a range of facilities to enjoy. Join the fun playing a round of golf at Hagerstown Greens, participate in one of the many special events at our parks, or ride on the City’s expanding network of bicycle routes.

Click to read the Rules & Regulations for the use of the City’s park and recreational facilities, along with the City’s Dog Policy. Many of these facilities are available for rental by the general public.

RECREATION PROGRAM POLICY

Program registration fees are non-refundable.  Transfers, account credits or refunds will be issued if program is cancelled for low enrollment or other cancellation by the City or Instructor.  Credits may be issued at the discretion of the Recreation Coordinator by submitting a written request.  Any credits issued must be used within the calendar year that it was issued or it will be forfeited after December 31st.

We are happy to announce that Hagerstown City Park won First Place for the 2019 Tri-State’s Best of the Best Park! Thank you Herald-Mail Media.

The Parks and Engineering received the Landscaping Award for the Hagerstown Cultural Trail in February 2020!

We are happy to have such a beautiful park for the community to enjoy everyday!
