Valerie joined the City of Hagerstown, Department of Planning and Economic Development in 2025 as Senior Planner. She is responsible for development review, long range planning, and special projects. Valerie has over 20 years’ experience in public, private and non-profit sectors. Her diverse background in land use planning, urban design, active transportation, and community engagement lends itself to create positive change in all communities.  Valerie earned her Masters of City and Regional Planning at the University of Texas Arlington.
