Can I use other containers for recycling instead of the totes?
Yes, as long as it is a container that is clearly marked "RECYCLING", in letters large enough to be seen at night with the collection truck's headlights.

2.
Should I set out recycling on the same night as my trash?
Yes (unless you are in Zone F in the City Center, which has a second "trash only" set out night). Recycling is set out once per week, in accordance with the collection schedule for your zone. Please refer to the Collection Schedules & Zones page for more information.

3.
What if my recycling cart is damaged, or I no longer want it?
Contact the "Hagerstown Recycles" hotline at (301) 739-8577 ext. 106 and we will address your needs as best we can.
4.
Can I put out cardboard boxes that I used for moving?
Yes, as long as the boxes are broken down to a size no larger than 3' x 3'. It is preferable to use twine to bundle them, but they may also be stacked underneath the tote/bin to keep them from blowing away.
