TRASH ADVISORY: Items NOT to Discard in Residential Trash

Home Posted on March 16, 2026

Waste Management reminds all City of Hagerstown refuse customers never to throw electronics, batteries, jump packs, or computers out with their regular residential trash.

Because those items are prone to fire risks and environmental contamination, it makes for a potentially dangerous situation.

Safely discard them by taking them to retail drop-off sites (such as Best Buy or Home Depot), local hazardous waste facilities, or use mail-in programs to ensure they are disposed of properly.
