Police Officer Testing Upcoming Dates

This is the first step in the selection and hiring process. 

Our next test dates have been scheduled on the following dates:

  • Wednesday, March 11 at 8:00AM
  • Tuesday, April 21 at 8:00AM

All will be held at the Washington County Public Safety Training Center (18350 Public Safety Place, Hagerstown, MD).   Click on the “Join HPD” button and complete the contact form.  We will then email you the details. 

The Candidate Orientation Guide provides useful information and tips for preparing for the test.  It also includes a practice test.  Interested applicants are strongly encouraged to review this guide.  The Candidate Orientation Guide and practice test can be found here. 

The Hagerstown Police Department offers police officer testing several times throughout the year. Please click on "Join HPD" button and complete an inquiry form to be notified of the next date if interested.
