Ham Drive Donations Needed for Community Families

The City of Hagerstown Parks & Recreation Division is teaming up with other City departments, staff, and organizations in the community to provide a ham for Christmas dinner for families with children in need. By donating a ham, some much needed assistance will be given to those with limited resources. Ham pledges, and volunteers to help distribute the hams at Bethel Gardens Community Center on Saturday, December 14, are being sought at this time. This Christmas Ham Drive is a service to the neighborhood surrounding Wheaton Park with a goal to collect 150 hams.

Donors are asked to drop off a ham on Friday, December 13 at Bethel Gardens, 356 Henry Avenue between 10am and 4pm, or at the Greens at Hamilton Run Golf Course, 2 South Cleveland Avenue. Hams will be delivered to those who sign up by Santa Claus and volunteers the following day. Only as many requests can be filled as donations are received, so help spread the Christmas cheer during this season of giving by making your ham donation pledge to the City of Hagerstown Parks & Recreation Office. Call 301-739-8577, ext. 170, or email by December 11.
