Speed Limit Change on Hagers Crossing Drive

The City of Hagerstown announces the reduction of the speed limit on Hagers Crossing Drive between Atlanta Court and the traffic circle at Bartow Drive from 30 to 25 miles per hour.

With the recent addition of Jonathan Hager Elementary in that area—and in keeping with traffic safety policies throughout the City within school zones—the speed limit has been adjusted accordingly.  A speed camera has been operating on that stretch of road since on or about March 31, 2017.

In order to enable motorists to get acclimated to the new, lower speed limit, the speed camera will not be operating in enforcement mode for the first 15 days.  The City asks that drivers use that grace period to adapt to slowing down and exercising the same care and caution they have demonstrated in Hagerstown’s other school zones.
