New City Administrator Announced

The Mayor and Council of the City of Hagerstown are pleased to announce the appointment of Scott Nicewarner to the position of City Administrator.

 

Nicewarner has been employed with the City of Hagerstown for 15 years.  He served as the Technology Manager prior to being promoted to his current position of Director of Support Services.  His departmental responsibilities consist of overseeing Technology, Utility Customer Service, Tax Operations, and Communications.

 

“Scott was a natural selection to fill this position.  His knowledge of all departments, MUNIS Financial System, and his ability to interact with department heads and staff at all levels makes him a perfect choice.  Over the years he has taken on more responsibility at different levels which made him the ideal choice in taking our City to the next level.  We are pleased that he has accepted the challenge,” 

 

A resident of the City for more than 30 years, Nicewarner feels privileged to have been selected as the fifth Administrator for Hagerstown since it moved to a Council/Manager form of government in 1983.

 

“Though not born and raised in Hagerstown, this has become my family’s home and I am honored and humbled to have our Mayor and Council’s confidence to help them continue the exciting progress being seen in our City today,” Nicewarner said.  “The 450+ staff that work for our citizens on a daily basis are a special group of people, and I know that working together with our elected body there are nothing but great things in store for our citizens and visitors to the City of Hagerstown.”

 

Nicewarner’s transition into the City Administrator’s role will take place over the next several weeks.
