Hager House German Christmas Tour Series, Pictures with Santa & More

The historic halls of Hagerstown’s founder’s first home are decked with holly as the Jonathan Hager House Museum comes to life the first two weekends in December to present the Hager House German Christmas Tour Series.  Make plans now to experience the look and feel of Christmases past and learn how this grand holiday was celebrated in Colonial times and throughout the years by dropping in for a tour at the top of each hour from 10am-3pm December 2-3 and 9-10.  Standard admission rates apply.  Learn more at


Sunday, December 4, the Hager House will host Pictures with Santa for $20.  Dress up the family for a special forever moment captured by the cozy kitchen hearth with Kris Kringle.  Pre-registration for groups of 7 or less is open now at


For holiday gift giving, commemorative Hager House ornaments are on sale for $15 (tax included).  The brass-etched, custom-cut collectibles are available in limited stock, individually packaged in a velvet-lined cardboard box with a clear plastic lid, and ready to represent Hagerstown’s German Christmas traditions when hung on any tree. Additionally, a beautiful glass ornament with resin tray lay-in is available for $10 and the City Park 100-year etched glass swan ornament is available for $15.  Fresh seasonal holiday décor items, featuring colorful holiday wreaths and aromatic centerpieces from Ben’s Antique Garden will be for sale during the tours, too.
