Traffic Advisory: South Potomac Street

The City of Hagerstown, in an effort to facilitate and support outdoor dining at restaurants while Maryland’s COVID-19 executive order is in effect, plans to close the first block of South Potomac Street to all vehicular traffic on certain weekend days between August 23rd and the end of October.   The scheduled closure dates are:

Saturday closures

Sunday closures

September 5th

August 23rd

September 12th

August 30th

October 3rd

September 20th

October 10th

September 27th

October 18th

October 25th

Closures on Saturdays will be from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM; closures on Sundays will be from 11:30 AM to 3:00 PM.  During the closures, South Potomac Street will be closed to traffic between Washington Street and Antietam Street.  A detour route will be posted to direct drivers around the closure. Motorists approaching the area will encounter cones, barricades, detour signs, and other traffic control devices.   Emergency vehicles will not be able to pass through this block of South Potomac Street while the closures are in effect, but will be able to respond to service calls within the block.
