The City of Hagerstown is pleased to announce a wireless payment option for metered parking stalls. As approved through a resolution by Mayor & Council on May 26, the City has partnered with service provider PayByPhone to make the contactless payment method a reality for on-street and lot parking.
City staff is in the process of installing stickers on the meters and signs on the street to alert drivers to the new service. While the meters will continue to accept coins, this new contactless system offers a fast, simple alternative that enables users to make a payment right from their mobile phone.
The PayByPhone app can be downloaded for free now. The service is set to go live when paid parking resumes on Monday, August 3.
