Memorial Park

The concept of this park was originally approved by Mayor and Council in December 2010. City staff constructed the park in phases in 2013 and 2014. The intent of the park is to create an outdoor space that honors citizens who have contributed to the community in significant ways and to remember important events in the City’s history. The park is home to the following:
  • Based upon recommendations to the Mayor and Council by the ‘Circle of Achievement Inductee Review Committee’ and pursuant to compliance with criteria for candidacy established by the Mayor and Council on May 27, 2014, the Circle of Achievement” honors people related to Hagerstown that have made significant contributions.  For more information, please click on this Circle of Achievement Honorees link
  • A timeline of historic events along the outer trail with vertical markers containing information on significant events in the City’s history,
  • A “pathway to character” along the interior trail with markers embedded in the paving of the six (6) pillars of Character Counts
  • Just north of Memorial Park is our Hagerstown Community Garden which offers City residents the opportunity to use public space and water to garden an individual plot at a low cost. For more information click here
