How Does It Work?
The City purchases vacant properties within City limits and renovates them to look like new. Properties are sold at the current appraised value to qualified applicants. This program may be combined with other mortgage assistance programs.

Eligible applicants will have an annual household income lower than the maximum amounts listed in the chart above and be pre-qualified for a mortgage loan.
How Do I Apply?
Contact a local mortgage company or bank of choice and ask to be pre-qualified for a mortgage loan. Ask about the Maryland Mortgage Program, any available first-time homebuyer incentives, and assistance with down payment and closing costs. Once you have received a pre-qualification letter, you may schedule a tour of our available home(s) and apply for the Homeownership Program.
Are you working with a realtor and interested in one of our Homeownership Properties? The City will pay a 2.5% commission to your realtor if you successfully complete the home purchase through our Homeownership Program.
