German Easter at the Hager House
EASTER EGG HUNT DATE CHANGE: MARCH 19 - POSTPONED!
Due to heavy rain forecasts today, March 19, we are postponing this weekend scheduled Easter Egg Hunt event at the Jonathan Hager House Museum in Hagerstown City Park. With the unpredictability of this storm, we are looking to move the event to Wednesday, March 23 when the temperatures are warmer and the ground has had a chance to dry. Tentatively, we aim to reschedule this free, fun family event from 5- 7:30 p.m. this Wednesday, March 23, which is during Spring Break! Stay tuned, for more updates from us as early as Monday, to finalize the Easter Egg Hunt reschedule details!

If you still want to visit The Jonathan Hager House Museum this weekend, our staff is ready to welcome you inside for a house tour! The Jonathan Hager House Museum will continue to be open as scheduled this weekend for German Easter Tours of the town founder's 18th century home!
Saturday, March 19 (10am-4pm) and Sunday, March 20 (Noon- 5pm).
Standard admission rates apply: $3 adults, $2 seniors/students, $1 age 6-12, Free ages 5 and under.

PLEASE NOTE: Registration for the Hager House Egg Hunt is FULL and closed. We have a specified amount of eggs and we are planning for each child registered to find their fair share (10 eggs per child). Those who are not registered for the Egg Hunt can still enjoy free activities later in the week, Wednesday eveing, at the Hager House, including a Petting Zoo and a Moon Bounce, and Kids Songs.

Due to dismal weather forecasts this weekend, the Easter Egg Hunt is hopping up to Wednesday, where the weather forecast looks more pleasant!
We are in the process of contacting all registered participants by email to notify egg hunters of the date change! Thanks for your cooperation!

Uncover the stories behind the customs: who is the Easter Bunny and why does she lay eggs? In true Bavarian style, the Hager House celebrates a mixture of ancient traditions and modern ideology brought to this region of America by German settlers. Bring the whole family to learn and to celebrate the season at the Jonathan Hager House Museum, located in Hagerstown City Park.
