Initiatives Underway
The City currently has a number of major initiatives underway. These include the following:
- The revitalization of the downtown as both a commercial and residential area.
- Developing neighborhood based projects and programs to enhance the quality of life for City residents.
- The completion of a feasible study and assisting the Mayor and Council in considering the construction of a new baseball stadium for the Hagerstown Suns.
- The promotion of economic development in the City through retention and expansion of existing businesses and the attraction of new businesses.
- Managing the City's operations and finances through the economic recession and recovery.
- Introducting new technologies throughout the City's operations to improve customer service and operating efficiencies.
- Completing major upgrades to the City's R.C. Willson Water Treatment Plan and the City's Wastewater Treatment System.
