Administrative Division
General Overview
The Administrative Division of the Hagerstown Fire Department (HFD) is overseen by the Fire Chief. This division is the nucleus of the HFD, as all of the other divisions of the HFD answer directly to the Fire Chief. The Administrative Division provides overall direction, leadership, and vision for the department. In addition to the Fire Chief, there is an administrative coordinator that assists in the day-to-day operations. This coordinator answers directly to the Fire Chief and is an integral part of the department.


This division provides administrative support for all divisions including budget preparation and administration, payroll, purchasing, setting departmental goals and objectives, planning / research, and information technology. Additionally this division prepares fire reports that are submitted to the State on a monthly basis, and other reports as requested by the City Administrator, Mayor and City Council. The HFD has an annual budget of approximately $5.5 million.
