CITY OF HAGERSTOWN
Water Treatment Operator
I,II,III,IV
I - Grade 8 - $32,156.80
II - Grade 10 - $35,547.20
III – Grade 11 - $37,169.60
IV – Grade 12 - $39,020
The City is seeking a Water Treatment Operator for its Water Division. Work involves performing a variety of tasks in the operation and maintenance of water treatment plants. Operators are responsible for making decisions affecting plant processes in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures and general guidelines to assure plant operations meet all Federal and State quality standards. Maintains accurate records and logs on all plant operations as required for operating reports. Collects samples and performs related lab analysis. Operates computer with process control software (SCADA). Fills chemical hoppers; loads, unloads, moves, and stacks chemicals and chemical feeding equipment. Level and grade is based upon experience, please see attached job description for the experience requirements for each level.
Qualifications: For all levels, the candidate must have a high school diploma or equivalent and one (1) year experience related to job functions. Candidate must have a valid vehicle operator’s license and satisfactory driving record in accordance with City policy. MDE Water certification preferred.
