District Commission The Hagerstown Historic District Commission is responsible for guiding the City's preservation program and for reviewing building and zoning permit activity in the historic districts and on landmark properties. The commission members are appointed by the Mayor and City Council for three year terms. The following delineates the required qualifications and attributes of the members of the Commission. All Members: Demonstrated special interest, specific knowledge or professional or academic training in such fields as history, architecture, architectural history, planning, archaeology, anthropology, curation, conservation, landscape architecture, historic preservation, urban design or related disciplines. 7 Voting Members: Must be a City resident and at least five of the members must have the following qualifications:
2 Non-Voting Members: Must be a Washington County resident Consultant (optional): Must be a Washington County resident The current members of the commission are:Robert W.
