Housing Rehabilitation
The City of Hagerstown Department of Community Development administers and promotes the following programs to assist income qualified homeowners and landlords: Single Family Rehabilitation: The City of Hagerstown administers the Maryland Housing Rehabilitation Program (MHRP). Affordable home improvement loans are available to homeowners to make interior and exterior repairs of all types to qualified applicants. Emergency Repairs: The City of Hagerstown has emergency repair grants available to qualified homeowners. An "emergency repair" is defined as a situation that is life threatening or when a situation prohibits someone from living in a decent, safe, and sanitary condition. Lead Paint Grants: The City of Hagerstown
administers the Maryland lead hazard reduction grant program. Grants are
available to qualified homeowners to minimize lead paint hazards. This
includes window and door treatments and replacement, floor treatment,
paint removal, etc. |
