Community Garden Update
The City consistently had three volunteers each day, Monday and Thursday from five until seven. Each volunteer took home an average of three pounds of produce each session- six pounds of produce a week, or 18 lbs of produce from the garden each week. The plants that flourished the most were radishes, cucumbers, and zucchini. Other plants include tomatoes, potatoes, lettuce, cabbage, pole beans, red peppers, yellow peppers, rosemary, thyme, oregano, broccoli, and purple cauliflower! Bunnies ate all of our canteloupe. Volunteers are still harvesting tomatoes and cucumbers for the remainder of the season and have put soil conditioner on the empty boxes to prepare it for the winter. updated: 10/18/2010 Keller Williams Premeir Realty Helps Community Garden Grow Arbor Day Celebration & Community Garden Opening |
