Inspection
The Pre-Sale Inspection Program offers potential
buyers the opportunity to learn if a property is in code compliance. The
Pre-Sale Inspection is intended to identify violations of the Hagerstown
City Code.
Pre-Sale Inspections cost $100 flat fee and $40 for each additional unit
over one.
In the event the seller fails to consent to the inspection, the inspection can still occur to advise the prospective buyer of all code violations. All code
violations must be abated within the timelines listed on the checklist,
regardless of the status of the sale.
If the Office of Code Compliance has already conducted an inspection
of the property of interest, you are welcome to view the results of the
inspection free of charge by visiting the office. Photocopies may be purchased
at the office.
