Four outstanding regional bands take to the stage at the Peter Buys Band Shell each of the next four Saturday evenings from 7-8:30 as Hagerstown City Park hosts the “Music by the Lake” concert series.
The free concert series kicks off this Saturday, July 14 with traditional bluegrass, old-time tunes, and a heaping helping of original bluegrass and folk music courtesy of Frederick, Maryland’s The Plate Scrapers.
July 21 provides a taste of jazz-funk and soul music as only Harrisburg, Pennsylvania’s YAM YAM can deliver it.
On July 28, series regulars known as “West Virginia’s Classic Bluegrass Band”—Stoney Creek—make a stop on their 30th anniversary tour to crank out “mainstream bluegrass at its best”.
And this year’s series culminates August 4 when Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania’s Tim Litvin & the Nature Boy Band roll out their unique blend of country music, both contemporary and traditional.
Bring a blanket or lawn chair for your comfort; permanent seating at the Band Shell is limited to 250 adults.
