The City of Hagerstown is proud to be recognized by Expedia, Inc. as one of America’s most beautiful destinations. Hagerstown, Maryland, was chosen for its embrace of history, endearing architecture, and characteristic downtown.
Expedia is an award-winning, international travel platform that helps travelers plan and book their vacations. The article, Most Beautiful Towns in America: Part 2, is featured on Expedia’s Travel Blog homepage, and will be seen by thousands of visitors in search of beautiful places to explore. Hagerstown placed #11 out of 30 other towns, cities, villages, and islands across the nation.
Author Chloe Mulliner noted, “There’s beauty to be had in a place that embraces its past.” The feature acknowledges Hagerstown’s plethora of significant landmarks and four historic districts – City Center, Oak Hill, South Prospect Street, and Potomac-Broadway.
This recognition is a significant achievement for the City, and comes just in time for visitors planning their summer trips to the USA Cycling Amateur Road National Championships, held here in July, and the annual Augustoberfest.
