Ask the Chief

Beyond the Headlines: Police Chief Will Hold LIVE Q&A Broadcast

Chief Victor V. Brito will participate in a live broadcast on Thursday, December 7th at 7:00 p.m. He’ll be answering your questions about crime prevention, drug challenges, and public safety efforts in the city of Hagerstown. You’re invited to submit your questions to the police chief, then tune in to the television broadcast or live online stream.

"People in Hagerstown are thrown a lot of negative media headlines about crime in our community. With the prevalence of social media, there's also a lot of misinformation about public safety in Hagerstown that is shared and perpetuated," Chief Brito explains. "This is an opportunity to provide a greater context and a better understanding of what is happening in our city in terms of public safety.”

Submitting Your Question
Members of the community are asked to submit their questions in advance of the broadcast so that police personnel may gather any beneficial data and identify topic areas where there is the greatest interest.

All submissions must include your full name, home address, and a contact phone number. Questions without this information will not be considered for inclusion in the broadcast. Each entrant can present up to three questions.

The preferred method of submitting questions is via email, however, interested participants can also submit questions by phone.

CHARACTER COUNTS!
The Hagerstown Police Department reminds the community that Hagerstown is a CHARACTER COUNTS! community. Questions that do not uphold the pillars of character towards any member of our community - law enforcement and citizens alike - will not be considered for inclusion in the broadcast. CHARACTER COUNTS! provides a framework of universal values that transcend religion, race, culture, socioeconomic status, and other unique factors that are part of an individual's personal identity. The six pillars of character include: Trustworthiness, Respect, Responsibility, Fairness, Caring, and Citizenship.
